Uvas Canyon, located in the hills between San Jose and Gilroy, is an awesome destination for your hiking adventures that caters to everyone in your family. From a steep, sunny, sweaty hike in Knobbs Knibb that brings you almost to Highway 17 and incredible views of the Valley, to gorgeous serene waterfalls and creeks which will have you meditating your cares away.
For the experienced hiker who has lots of time for the day, we recommend getting the hot exercise in first. On the southernmost trail you will find Knobbs Knibb. This trail goes up… and up… and keeps going up for about 3 miles of firetrail, with little to no shade for the most part. This is definitely where you will get your sweat on and shortness of breath, it’s a great workout.
